"Take the best of who you are, the things you feel are beautiful, the things that are true, whatever you can stand to look at when you see your soul in the mirror, take those things and be glad, for they are gifts, given freely, by Someone who loves you more than you can ever love or will ever have to." - James Hamann

"If you're going through hell, keep going." - Winston Churchill

Never mistake activity for achievement. - John Wooden

"Being powerful is Like being a lady, if you have to tell people you are, you aren't." -Margaret Thatcher

Quotes

"When people cease to be surrounded by beauty, they cease to hope." -N.T. Wright

"Fairytales are more than true, not because they tell us dragons exist but because they tell us dragons can be beaten" G.K. Chesterton

“People are like stained-glass windows. They sparkle and shine when the sun is out, but when the darkness sets in, their true beauty is revealed only if there is a light from within.”

"I want nothing for myself, I want everything for the Lord." -Watchman Nee

"If I find in myself an experience which nothing in this world can satisfy, the most probable explanation is that I was made for another world." -C.S. Lewis

"When you have only two pennies left in the world, buy a loaf of bread with one, and a lily with the other." I think I was just looking for something poetic to name this blog when I came across this proverb. If I ever found myself at the end of my rope I hope to not only be thinking about survival but remembering the beauty of my life. It is a precious and wonderful thing. I expect to always see it that way.
