Camp Catastrophe

This is Mack and I last year at Family camp (2008) attempting to build a tent.
By the way that was the best family camp of my life! So excited for this year!
I can smell the campfire already :)
And we did get that tent up.

Induction Sunday and My Big Bro James

So today was induction Sunday at church. Dustin and Misty were given their blessings to go off and officially lead Monroe. My brother James is one of the people going with them. It's going to be interesting not seeing him at church anymore. Though I admit I am used to not having him around. Even before MC's James was a social butterfly so he was always off somewhere and then he had his own house for awhile. I guess the only thing different about this is that James is starting a new chapter in his life that I'm not really a part of. He's going somewhere that I can't go, well maybe every once and awhile to visit. But I know that this is only the beginning of the chapters in James' life that I wont be there for. And that I must say that pains me just a little. But I trust in the Lord and really that is simply how life is. People grow and they move and change. They get wives and children and plant churches and move away. But still I know that no matter God's destiny for James he will always be my amazing biggest brother. By the way this is an awful picture of him. But hey what are little sisters for :)

Waverly Fantasticness

Cribbage and Oreos!

And fantastic leaps!

A Day At Waverly Beach

Can I just speak a word of thankfulness right now. I am so incredibly thankful for the relationships I have in my life. My friend Ashley and I spent the whole day at Waverly Beach on Thursday June 2nd and it was one of the best times I have ever had! First we stopped off at Tessa's to say Happy Birthday since she turned eighteen. Yay! Then we headed over to Safeway to buy some snacks. Lunchables, Dr. Pepper and ice for the cooler. We had already packed like three days worth of food from home so we didn't need to buy that much. But already I was excited to eat that Lunchable! Next we stopped at Ashley's to get some floaty foam noodles but she only had one so we just left it. Then finally we were on our way!!

Once we got to the beach (which took a little longer since we got a smidge lost)  we trekked down this little hill and set up camp. Two beach chairs, three towels on the ground and a massive cooler (Big Bluey) full of delicious snacks. For awhile we just chilled and played Egyptian Rat Screw ( a card game ) (I'm using a lot of parentheses) and ate our Lunchables and some very juicy peaches. But then we started getting hot, it was a gorgeous day, so we decided to go swimming.

I was the first to jump off the dock and the water felt so nice and cool. Ashley had her camera out and was taking pictures of every fantastic leap and contortion. We switched off taking pictures of eachother. After a few rounds we laid out on the dock in the sun and talked and laughed. There was a lady on a blow up mattress with a whole box of Coors Light. Ashley snapped a picture of her. It was hilarious! After baking for awhile we went back to camp and played scrabble, Ashley won another game! But I never play scrabble so I'm using that as an excuse. But I did beat her at cribbage! But I will admit I play that game with my mom all the time so heh I'm pretty good :)

After another round of jumping and posing at the dock Ashley and I just sat back in those beach chairs and relaxed. The water was beautiful, it was illuminated by the sun making it's way down under the earth. We didn't stay for the sunset unfortunately since I had to go and babysit Isaiah. We will definitely do that someday! We also giggled at a couple of people who were treating their dogs like their own children. "Oh there's your daddy! Go give him a big kiss!!"

Finally we packed up and raced back to my house to drop off the beach stuff because we got stuck in traffic and I was going to be late for babysitting. We literally threw the stuff in my front door and than ran over to the house I was babysitting at. Luckily I made it only  a few minutes late. It was a fun end to a fantastic day I will never forget. Friends are the best and I am so thankful for the people I have in my life.
